Four or more fellowships and/or research assistantships are available every year to support students who wish to pursue a Ph.D. degree in geophysics. In addition, there are often research grants available to support geophysics students in both the Ph.D. and M.S. degree programs. The awards are competitive. Evaluation of applications begins on 7 February for the graduate programs.
Fellowships include a stipend ($17000 to $25000) plus full tuition and fees. The cost of living in Boise is quite reasonable (rents average around $500/month). Boise is located near many outdoor recreation opportunities. These include white water kayak and rafting, ski slopes, high desert and mountain hiking. The campus is located on the Boise River.
Download the appropriate instructions PDF file, and all other files. Admission is a two step process. First, to the graduate college, Second, to the Geosciences Department. Click on each to download the *.pdf file
